Dynon is BACK to Oshkosh in 2021

 

AIRVENTURE IS BACK! Dynon is back at Oshkosh AirVenture this year with announcements, specials, and events planned throughout the week. Wireless Chart Transfer with Slingshot

In the next version of SkyView and AF-5000 software, pilots can wirelessly transfer charts to their avionics displays using the Slingshot capabilities in Seattle Avionics’ FlyQ EFB app. This offers pilots an alternative to the current method, which involves loading USB memory sticks on a PC and physically bringing them to the aircraft. Slingshot simplifies this utilizing the modern wi-fi capabilities in avionics and mobile devices. To use Slingshot, pilots load the iOS-based FlyQ efb app with the charts, plates, and airport diagrams as they normally do while using the app. When connected via wi-fi to a Dynon or AFS display, Slingshot can transfer that chartdata on board the in-aircraft avionics. Slingshot capability requires a Seattle Avionics ChartData and FlyQ subscription. Seattle Avionics will debut pricing and package specials at AirVenture.

D3 “Oshkosh is BACK” Promotion

Dynon is celebrating the return to Oshkosh with a limited time offer. For the week of AirVenture only (7/26/2021-08/01/2021), the D3 Pocket Panel is $80 off its normal price. Whether or not you’re going to the show, this special affords “A Little Attitude for Everyone.” The D3 requires no installation or approval to bring its backup attitude indicator to virtually any aircraft. Dynon Certified Crosses the Canadian Border

Coincident with the start of AirVenture Oshkosh on July 26, an updated American/Canadian agreement goes into effect that allows Canadian pilots to install Dynon Certified products under the existing AML-STC. This agreement covers most of the nearly 600 aircraft on the Dynon Approved Model List (AML). If an aircraft is both on Dynon’s AML (see Dynon Certified website) and the Canadian eligibility list, it may be installed under this agreement.

Improved SkyView Twin-Engine Monitoring Capabilities

Upcoming SkyView 16.2 software for experimental aircraft adds improvements to the system’s twin-engine monitoring capability. This software release allows pilots of twin-engine aircraft to view both engines together on any engine monitoring display page. Previous versions required a separate SkyView display unit for each engine. This improvement enables dedicated twin-engine displays. It also allows any of the 50%, 20%, or bottom band EMS page views to contain instruments from both engines. These improved capabilities let pilots more easily monitor two engines in a single, compact location, minimizing workload when flying a more complex aircraft. This upgrade also includes new engine monitoring “widgets” that display both engines’ parameters on a single gauge. Version 16.2 is due to release in the weeks after AirVenture for SkyView HDX, SkyView Classic, and SkyView Touch.
